Assessments and outcomes

About us

We are a fully trained, qualified and experienced team of professionals who appreciate the impact of sight, hearing and dual sensory impairments on the lives of individuals, families or carers. Our team, a quarter of whom are sensory impaired, also have training and considerable experience of working with people with additional disabilities such as dementia and learning disabilities. We work in partnership with local and national voluntary organisations as we know that working together delivers the best possible outcomes for our customers.

“Talking to someone who is also deaf makes things easier, they understand you more. Carly new exactly what I needed and was a great help.”

Mrs R – North Weald

Referrals

We are dedicated to ensuring that you can access the correct information, advice and support at the right time, in the right place and in the right way. To achieve this we review all referrals to check that we are the right organisation to support the identified needs as this reduces the chance of unnecessary multiple visits, and subsequent confusion. We may therefore let you know about or with your permission, refer you to one of our partner sensory voluntary organisations instead if we feel they are better placed to meet your needs, for example for social activities or access to an equipment resource centre near you. We would discuss this with you first to check you are happy being referred on and we remain fully available to you as an ongoing specialist resource of information and support.

““We received a very quick response to our initial referral and when arranging the first home assessment.  Sonia was extremely knowledgeable, professional and understanding.  She stayed for two hours providing an extremely comprehensive assessment”

Mrs A – -Rayleigh

Assessments

If you are referred into our service we will offer you a face to face home visit where we can discuss your needs with you and provide you with appropriate advice, support and equipment. Our visit could take as little as one hour or several visits at a pace that suits you. We will support any communication needs you may have and ensure you are in control of the discussion and outcomes throughout.
